About this project

The project area is home to the last intact mountain rainforests in the country. The right to participation of the indigenous population is often circumvented. This results in serious social conflicts, environmental destruction and human rights violations. In addition, the pressure on the indigenous population is growing due to climate change and the associated increase in natural disasters. The project pursues a holistic approach. Structures and capacities for indigenous self-administration are being developed, demanded and implemented. It also strengthens sustainable, diversified, climate-adapted cultivation systems that generate income and contribute to nature conservation in the indigenous communities.
