About this project

The project aims to strengthen food security and rural livelihoods in subsistence farming communities highly affected by climate change and soil degradation. Its core objective is to reduce malnutrition and enhance community resilience. Using a participatory self-help approach, Community Interest Groups are formed to foster ownership, establish kitchen gardens, and gain knowledge on nutrition and sustainable farming. Measures include training in ecological agriculture, value addition and marketing, introduction of drought-resistant crops, micro-irrigation, beekeeping, and dairy goat rearing. Women and youth – especially young mothers – are specifically targeted and supported in nutrition, income generation, and life skills.
