Empowering indigenous peoples and traditional and rural communities in defense of the sovereignty of their territories and their ways of life

About this project

The main objective of this project is to empower indigenous peoples and traditional and farming communities so that they can demand social, environmental and climate justice and preserve their way of life. The project approach recognises the crucial importance of the territorial sovereignty of these populations in mitigating the effects of climate change. The project measures promote the implementation of social, economic and environmental sustainability practices, the development of strategies for self-protection and self-governance, and counteract structural racism and territorial and socio-ecological inequalities.
