About this project
Despite remarkable progress in various socio-economic indicators and food production over the decades, Bangladesh still struggles to meet the basic needs of its population, including nutrition. Small-scale, organic farming offers a way out. This project contributes to protecting biodiversity and improving food security and income for farmers in the project area. The target group comprises approximately 3,800 people, half of whom are women. These are mainly members of two cooperatives and their families, as well as residents of three villages. Cooperatives and producer groups are being strengthened, market access is being improved through participatory guarantee systems, and biodiversity in the project area is being protected.
