About this project

In recent years, Philippine agriculture has increasingly focused on input-intensive monoculture systems such as hybrid and genetically modified crops, which has led to traditional farming methods being increasingly displaced. Farmers are now more dependent on external inputs and technologies and often face challenges such as landlessness, debt and limited market access. The project therefore aims to contribute to strengthening food sovereignty and security and improving climate resilience among smallholder families from at least 184 smallholder grassroots organisations. Measures include capacity building for the network of grassroots organisations, strengthening agroecological systems, local processing, certification and marketing of agricultural products, as well as advocacy work and alliance building.
