Strengthening the capacity of poor families in rural areas to promote economic development and their fundamental rights

About this project

In the project area, a significant portion of the population is landless or owns very little land, many are day laborers. The region is also vulnerable to extreme weather conditions. Compounding these challenges are social structures that disadvantage large segments of the population, particularly girls and women, as well as children and youth with disabilities. The project contributes to improving the income and health of the target groups and to helping them assert their rights. To this end, the target groups organize themselves into groups (twelve women’s associations, six youth clubs, and ten farmers’ associations). Training sessions, educational events, and exchange visits are organized, materials for safe menstrual hygiene are provided and children and youth with disabilities receive individualized support.
