About this project
Ecuador is in the midst of a social, ecological and political crisis. Violence, corruption and drug trafficking are on the rise. The government prioritises economic interests over environmental and human rights. The aim of the project is to protect territories and water resources through civil society participation. The project strengthens communities, collectives, social and church organisations – especially women and young people – that are committed to environmental and human rights. The work focuses on environmental racism, the recognition of rivers as legal entities, legal support, training on natural rights, communication campaigns and studies to raise public awareness.
