About this project
The rural population lives from subsistence farming with extensive livestock breeding (partly on common land). Their traditional and resource-conserving way of life is increasingly threatened by mega-projects in the fields of mining, energy production and agribusiness. The project aims to secure access to land and water in their territories, defend rights and traditional ways of life in regions threatened by land grabbing, and engage women and young people in public welfare measures. The project reaches 856 people. Project measures include training on applicable legislation (including environmental laws) relating to large-scale projects, workshops on water justice, the creation of consultation protocols (ILO 169), exchange meetings, assistance in land conflicts, seminars for young people and women, and public relations work.
