Strengthening local government, holistic development and protection of natural resources in El Salvador

About this project

This project is dedicated to promoting local development processes in rural communities suffering from poverty. Degraded soils and the effects of climate change make it difficult to produce sufficient food, which serves as the basis of life for rural communities. The project teaches agroecological farming practices. The restoration of soil fertility and adapted cultivation methods are intended to counteract soil degradation and improve the food situation of people in the project region. By promoting organisational skills, structures are strengthened so that communities can initiate and implement development projects themselves. The project measures include training in community leadership and organisation, education and training in agroecological techniques, exchange of experiences, purchase and distribution of seeds, etc.
