About this project

Mining leads to many social and environmental problems, including in the southeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The goal is therefore to strengthen community-based grassroots groups, small-scale mining cooperatives and local authorities to ensure a responsible supply chain for copper and cobalt. Funding is provided for training on mining standards, empowering target groups to advocate for their rights, as well as capacity building for cooperatives, lobbying efforts, and research. The target groups are grassroots groups, small-scale mining cooperatives and local authorities.
