About this project

The project helps Indian cities to respond effectively to rising temperatures, increasing emissions and social inequalities. It develops and disseminates methods for heat analysis and thermal comfort, promotes climate-resilient urban planning, and supports cities in implementing integrated measures. These include operational frameworks for heat management, sustainable mobility, the electrification of public transport, and improved accessibility in urban areas. At the same time, comprehensive capacities are being built up within local authorities to strengthen policy reforms, planning processes and implementation capabilities. In addition, the project empowers young people through environmental education and strengthens their role as agents of change. Overall, it contributes to making cities more resilient, inclusive and low-carbon.
