About this project
In the target region, biomes are threatened by destruction caused by monocultures and large-scale projects in the mining, energy production, and port construction sectors. Smallholder farmers, as well as indigenous and traditional rural communities, are subjected to numerous human rights violations and face the threat of displacement due to a lack of land titles. The project aims to achieve successful public policy engagement on human rights issues by improving the population’s level of organization and through networking with other civil society actors. To achieve these goals, measures are being implemented in the areas of community strengthening and capacity building, agroecology and sustainable livelihoods, human rights protection and strategic legal work, as well as documentation, advocacy, and political influence.
