About this project

This phase expands and strengthens the Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC) model by introducing sub-regional structures – Community Collectives – that expand local value webs through Learning Hubs, fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and economic resilience. Unlike linear value chains, value webs are dynamic, decentralized, and interconnected systems, continuously growing beyond individual communities. They enable circular flows of knowledge, economic exchange, and resources, strengthening food system resilience and self-reliance. For a structural transformation of food systems, the approach will focus on: Cooperation networks and leadership for systemic transformation (micro, meso and macro levels);Adaptive, cross-sectoral governance at the meso level and; Local learning and economic resilience.
