About this project

The project aims to strengthen the livelihoods and resilience of vulnerable pastoralists and agropastoralists in Galmudug through the establishment of landscape restoration areas, afforestation activities and reintroduction of key grass and tree species through innovative biochar-loaded 'seed bombs' as well as improved knowledge on key rural value chains. From the pilot project, guidelines for the scale out sustainable landscape-restorative and climate resilient value chains will be developed and shared widely to key stakeholders. The project will also support the implementing partner CPD to develop a strategy for a Somali 'seedbomb' social enterprise to promote landscape restoration interventions in Somalia.
