About this project
WATERLINK is a pilot initiative that tests a new model of integrated digital and community-led emergency water governance in fragile and conflict-affected areas. Co-led by ACF and Oxfam, the WATERLINK model combines real-time digital and remote management technologies with a community-driven digital platform, empowering local stakeholders to monitor water access points, share feedback, and report emergencies in real time. This approach strengthens the capacity of both WASH responders and local communities to anticipate, surveil, respond to, and recover from water-related crises, while fostering equitable access, greater accountability, sustainability, local ownership and Public Health in humanitarian water interventions. The initiative removes participation barriers by making the platform accessible and inclusive through tailored training sessions, the integration of low-tech features in the digital platform, and the deployment of local digital focal points trained to support community engagement and feedback processes. This ensures the needs of vulnerable groups shape water management decisions, improving equitable access to safe water
