About this project

The Women Economic Strengthening for Resilience Project (WESRP) aims to improve household income and enhance access to finance for small to medium enterprises and markets for agri-entreprenuers. The project will offer specialized training in specific value chains, as well as provide guidance in areas such as business development, group formation, financial literacy, and marketing. In addition, micro-loans will be extended to small holder women farmers, utilising Internal Savings and Loans (ISALs) and commodity association groups as social collateral. By focusing on women engaged in garlic, sesame, paprika, onion, and honey, and off-farm businesses, WESRP seeks to uplift 3000 households in the Mutoko, Mudzi, Murewa and Goromonzi from extreme poverty by 2027. For year 1 the target is 1000 beneficiaries. Through these efforts, the initiative endeavours to make a social and economic difference in the lives of women and communities, working towards the ultimate goal of eradicating extreme poverty.
