About this project

This is a 1month Start Network Risk Pool 5 FUNDED National Reserves (operational readiness) project to be implemented through LDS in Gwanda District, Matebeleland South Province (targeting 5 wards: 15, 16, 17, 19, and 24; with 16 & 19 as existing RP3 wards and 15, 17 & 24 as new wards). The overall objective is to ensure that Gwanda communities are fully prepared to respond rapidly to an anticipated drought associated with Super El Niño, strengthening readiness for potential activation of anticipatory action (AA). Key activities will focus on (1) establishing community engagement and verification processes, (2) building AA plans to prepare for the drought, and (3) preparing contingency water, agriculture, and livestock support inputs that can be deployed quickly if drought thresholds trigger activation.
