About this project
The MENA Europe Regional Climate Initiative focuses on strengthening climate resilience and preparedness across the MENA and Europe regions. In the MENA region, we will build on the Danish Red Cross funded study 'Advancing Adaptation: MENA Climate Resilience Framework' and support initiatives that translate the findings from this study into practical measures. This will include integrating climate risk into planning, enhancing capacities of National Societies and communities, and implementing targeted interventions to reduce the impacts of extreme weather and environmental stressors on vulnerable communities. Looking ahead, this initiative will also encompass future Climate and DRR projects in Europe, ensuring a consistent approach to community-led resilience and adaptation across both regions. This work directly contributes to our new priority investment in the BRC International Strategy 2025-30: ‘Accelerating community-led climate resilience – exploring opportunities for National Society partners to scale up community-level solutions and adaptation in the face of climate shocks’. This will be a central page for all Climate and DRR initiatives we will support in MENA and Europe.
