About this project

In May 2024, cyclone Remal hit the southern coastal belt of Bangladesh and had a significant impact on the lives of thousands of people, including a large number of the project participants from the Proyash agroecology project. Initial assessments of the lives and livelihoods of the project participants after the cyclone showed that they were better off immediately afterwards and able to recover more quickly than neighbouring community members who were not using agroecology practices. To verify and explore these findings, BOKU university carried out field-based research in July 2025 in collaboration with Caritas Bangladesh. This grant is to support the dissemination of the findings and recommendations of the "BRACE" study.
