About this project

Heavy rain brought about flooding to most parts of the country in 2022. Midlands province was one of the most affected parts of the country. Chirape, Chiwashira and Vimbe dams in Gokwe North districts are among the lot of affected infrastructure in the province. The dam spillways were heavily eroded resulting in risk of breaching. The project will rehabilitate the dam spillways and 3 solar piped water schemes in order to restore the source of livelihoods for communities through fishing and water supply for multiple uses. In addition the project will assist Nembudziya government school with 10 squat hole latrines, handwashing facilities and hygiene laboratory equipment in response to their request which they submitted to Caritas Gokwe.
