About this project

TEFOS Pillar 3, implemented by NIRAS and its partners ONF Andina and GITEC, seeks to promote and improve the livelihoods of communities living in priority deforestation hotspots in the Colombian Amazon. This through: i. Increasing communities' skills and knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and sustainable forest management to protect and increase forest cover. ii. Promoting the commercialisation and improving market access for sustainable products and services through public-private partnerships that protect standing forests on the frontier of deforestation. iii. Promoting conservation incentives (such as payment for ecosystem services (PES)) to protect standing forests on the frontier of deforestation. Our geographical focus is on the Núcleo Veredal 21 Cuemaní, in Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá.
