Strengthening the Rule of Law and Reverse the Regression of Democracy and Human Rights by Revitalizing the Structural Legal Aid Movement

About this project

Seeing the deteriorating situation of democracy and the rule of law above, an immediate response must be made with impactful strategic actions. If this is allowed to continue, the country's condition will return to authoritarian times within 5 or 10 years, this will certainly be terrible for the democratic situation. The state will fully become authoritarian. Thus, it is important to counter this trend by building civil society resistance as hard as possible. Through this program, YLBHI will carry out a strategic program namely: “Strengthening the Rule of Law and Reverse the Regression of Democracy and Human Rights by Revitalizing the Structural Legal Aid Movement”. This strategic program is accomplished by carrying out several key strategies as advocacy steps to strengthen democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, namely: 1. Making YLBHI and 5 LBH offices anti-criminalization centers; 2. Building a new Information Technology-based Resistance (PARAMEDIA YLBHI) in 5 Regions; 3. Encouraging the formation of democratic leagues in 5 Regions (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua).
