About this project

In June 2024, two collaborative Instagram posts with More Branches Media Africa highlighted discriminatory legislation in African countries, focusing on ten activists who advocate for LGBTQ+ rights across the continent through various mediums and decolonizing gender and sexual identity. The post, which was part of a broader campaign to raise awareness about human rights issues, received significant engagement, garnering 700 and 1,733 likes respectively and reaching a total of 47,392 accounts. In October 2024, during the roll out of The Politics of Queerness exhibition, a collaborative post highlighting the opening night commenced a new collaborative campaign with The Colored Space to raise visibility of queer art as an act of activism and resistance. This post received 111 likes and 32 comments and 65 shares, positively affecting registration and overall interest.
