About this project

The main gaol of the the program is to improve the food and nutrition security, especially reducing malnu nutrition among child under 5 years hold and women. The Programme’s nutrition approach is focused on investments into malnutrition prevention activities, improving access to water, sanitation and hygiene and improving district coordination of nutrition interventions. This includes supporting improved access to and availability of food through support for nutrition-sensitive agricultural production and market access and capacity building on food conservation and storage techniques. Availability of nutritious food throughout the year is a challenge in the target districts, which exacerbates the promotion of poor eating habits. To promote sustainablefood and nutrition security,the Programme will increase the capacity of small-scale farmers to use smart agricultural techniques to produce nutritious food allyear round. This will be done by implementing targeted interventions to support farmers associations to adopt production plants focused on year-round and diverse production for sale and consumption, at same time building their capacity, through training and support in equipment for food conservation, post-harvest management and improved storage systems.
