About this project

The ongoing crisis in Gaza has caused widespread destruction of infrastructure, services, and livelihoods. Recovery and reconstruction efforts are underway, yet women remain underrepresented in decision-making and leadership roles, despite being disproportionately affected by the crisis. The ongoing crisis in Gaza has caused widespread destruction of infrastructure, services, and livelihoods.Recovery and reconstruction efforts are underway, yet women remain underrepresented in decision-making and leadership roles, despite being disproportionately affected by the crisis. Women—particularly female-headed households, young women, and women with disabilities—face compounded barriers to accessing resources, influencing recovery planning, and benefiting fromreconstruction processes. Atthe same time, they are key agents of change, leading community coping mechanisms, informal economies, and social support systems. Problem analysis: The project addresses main problem of Repeated forced displacement, discriminatory gender <(>&<)> socio-culturalnorms, rise in GBV risks and harmful practices, Limited participation, decision-making, and engagement of women in recovery and reconstruction processes. The project also addresses the lack of women's voice, agency, leadership and effective participation of localwomen/ young women and women-led organizations in decision-making bodies and processes related to humanitarian response, early recovery, reconstruction, social cohesion, and local peace…
