About this project
Following the escalation of hostilities on 2 March, over 667,000 people have registered as internally displaced across Lebanon, with nearly 120,000 sheltering in collective sites and many more living in unsafe or overcrowded conditions. Access to clean water, sanitation, food, and essential services is severely strained, and protection risks—particularly for women, girls, migrants, refugees, and LGBTQIA+ individuals—are rising. In response, Oxfam and partners ShareQ and Nabad are delivering integrated Food Security, WASH,and Multi-Purpose Cash (MPC) assistance across Beirut, Mount Lebanon (Barja and Shehim), and South Lebanon (Saida and Jezzine). Theproject will support 8,744 displaced people inside and outside collective shelters. The response includes daily hot meals and ready-to-eat food kits for families without cooking facilities, emergency cash assistance for highly vulnerable households, hygiene and menstrual kits (including adapted kits for persons with disabilities), and water trucking to ensure safe water access in underserved shelters. All activities follow SPHERE and sector standards and integrate gender and protection measures, including GBV-sensitive approaches and inclusive targeting. Oxfam coordinates closely with local authorities, UN agencies, and humanitarian partners to avoid duplication and ensure a timely, effective response that addresses urgent needs while safeguarding dignity and rights
