About this project
SeedNL, together with the Agricultural Team at the Netherlands Embassy, conducted a study on seed sector challenges in India. Several challenges and priorities were identified that have been discussed during several Round Tables with relevant stakeholders. During these meetings the relevance of an India-Netherlands Seed Secretariat was identified, which is being developed in the current project. This project is part of the combi-track horticulture in India that focuses on South and West India. It will contribute to the pillar ‘enabling environment’ and therefor aims to contribute to better government-to-government (G2G) relations in the area of the seed regulatory framework. In addition, the project aims to explore partnership projects in the area of seed innovations and research & development (R&D), for the benefit of Dutch seed companies and Indian (smallholder) farmers.
