Horticultural Innovation Center in Nigeria

About this project

The project aims to create a Horticultural Innovation Centre (HIC) on the campus of Covenant University, located in Ogun state in southwest Nigeria. At the HIC, Dutch greenhouse systems, irrigation equipment and improved seed varieties tailored to Nigerian conditions for protected and open-field cultivation will be demonstrated to show their benefits to various stakeholders. In addition, by offering accredited courses, practical and latest cultivation technology and techniques, the HIC aims to develop a new generation of skilled farmers, service providers, farm managers and entrepreneurs.
