About this project

This project aims to strengthen the sustainability and resilience of shrimp and clam farming in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. By introducing improved shrimp genetics and developing new clam varieties suited for brackish water, the project supports more stable farmer incomes, reduces environmental pressure, and contributes to more sustainable and diversified aquaculture practices in the region. In addition, the project aims to enlarge the position of the Netherlands as a partner in sustainable aquaculture solutions and therefor contributes to the Dutch-Vietnamese aquaculture trade relation.
