About this project

In the past decades, Morocco’s water supply has been steadily and rapidly declining while demand has increased and is expected to continue to increase. At the same time, Morroco is affected by coastal erosion and was recently confronted with heavy rainfaill and severe flooding. The water sector challenges in Morocco present numerous opportunities for Dutch expertise and businesses. Despite the scale of the water challenges, the existence of a favourable institutional framework and the recognition of Dutch expertise to address the challenges, a gap remains between the needs expressed, the available supply, and the mechanisms for connecting the two. Whilst there are opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation in this field, there is a need for tools that can transform the strategic dialogue into concrete and sustainable partnerships that benefit both parties.
