About this project
The objective of this assignment is to develop a practical Access to Finance Roadmap for Ghana’s horticulture sector that turns the key insights from the POMBI Inclusive Finance Forum into clear, actionable priorities.Building on the February 2026 engagement, the roadmap should reflect a shared understanding that the main constraint is not lack of capital, but structural issues in how finance connects to the sector — weak aggregation, low financial readiness of farmers and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), fragmented value chains, risk-averse financial institutions and a mismatch between agricultural cycles and financial products. Moreover, it will include at least one concept note for the implementation of a pilot, addressing the identified priorities.
