About this project
Despray B.V. develops and manufactures advanced equipment for recycling aerosol cans. The technology is designed to recycle 100% of the liquids, metals, and gases from aerosol packaging and convert them into metal blocks, LPG, and other fuels. In Nigeria, the use of aerosol products (hairsprays, deodorants, paints and coatings, aerosols for automotive/industrial use) is increasing rapidly, driven by a growing middle class and increasing urbanisation. This results in a large stream of (metal) waste.Despray plans to establish a joint venture with an Nigerian recycling company. In the first three years of operation, they hope to recycle approximately 28 million discarded cans and tins into bales of scrap steel, cooking gas, and fuel for energy generation.
