About this project
The purpose of the project is to test innovative ideas to enabling scaling of the impact of the Energising Development (EnDev) programme towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 of ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Mercy Corps will provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable solar energy access to displaced and ultra-poor households in Niger through an innovative, zero-upfront-cost Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model that strengthens community ownership, economic resilience, and local capacity. The proposed EaaS pilot incorporates several innovative elements that set it apart from conventional energy delivery models in fragile and underserved contexts like Maradi.
