About this project

The Netherlands embassy in Maputo, Mozambique, aims to support a system approach towards leveraging local private sector development with focus on youth entrepreneurship and employment in the food and nutrition sector. The system that has been chosen to work for PADEO (Programmatic Approach Sustainable Economic Development) in Mozambique is the transition from subsistence farming to commercial farming with an emphasis on stimulating jobs for youth in this sector (from farmers and producers to the market) in the two focus areas of the Multi-annual country strategy (MACs 2023-2026): Cabo Delgado and the Beira Corridor.The purpose of the present project is to hire a coordinator which will provide technical support to the PADEO team in Mozambique in coordinating and integrating the diverse ongoing and forthcoming interventions in the Beira corridor (and in the future also Cabo Delgado), under the PADEO approach (including the system thinking and the learning process).As result, a comprehensive plan of action will be developed that addresses the prioritized leverage points (access to knowledge, access to finance and access to markets), as defined by the PADEO team for both areas. An action plan that is flexible and clearly explains how this plan fosters systemic change in the selected system.
