About this project
This project aims to implement technology and procedures that will enable the Vietnamese counterpart of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) Plant Protection Department (PPD) from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in Vietnam to issue electronic certificates in compliance with the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and European Union regulation in order to eliminate paper certificates. PPD already has the right system in place, but did not yet implement the necessary technology and procedures to exchange electronic information internationally. Ultimately, e-certification is key for efficient trade in plants and plant products from Vietnam to the Netherlands with gains for both sides.
