About this project

The MudaAgro Centre (MAC) is a new model for sustainable private sector development in Mozambique. Formed by a coalition of Dutch and local partners, MAC will operate as a profitable local enterprise addressing key agricultural market gaps. It will deliver farmer extension, agri-small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) training, access to climate-smart inputs and competitive offtake markets, and Dutch smart farming innovations. Strategically based in Chimoio within the Beira Growth Corridor, MAC will serve as a regional hub connecting farmers, youth, agri-entrepreneurs, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and Dutch agribusinesses in a system that fosters innovation, job creation, and long-term resilience.To catalyse MAC’s growth, the project subsidy will launch 4 core service offerings within the horticulture value chain:• The farmer accelerator program will train 500 lead farmers - reaching over 10,000 smallholders - with demonstrations and access to innovations like irrigation systems, improved seeds, and digital tools.• The youth incubator program will develop 90 “mudaagro champions” to build local agribusinesses and ecosystem service enterprises, serving as trusted community advisors.• The adult learning centre, in partnership with tvet institutions, will offer vocational upskilling, internships, and teacher training to strengthen local human capital.• The connection platform will link markets and innovation, enabling dutch companies to test and adapt technologies su…
