About this project
This project is to support a roundtable which is part of a sequence of events with the purpose to contribute to a sustainable pathway of a Naivasha water catchment financing mechanism restoring the landscape for the benefit of and with active involvement of private sector together with other public and private stakeholders. The Naivasha catchment underpins a significant share of agro-export activity between the Netherlands and Kenya, with Dutch-linked companies active across floriculture, horticulture, and agribusiness. This creates a natural constituency of Dutch private sector actors with both direct exposure to catchment water risk and established business relationships in Kenya, making the case for their participation in a catchment financing mechanism unusually strong.
