About this project

This assignment aims to continue advice to the Government of Indonesia (GoI) in operationalising the concept of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). Building upon the first phase of support, during which national strategic and technical guidelines on NBS were developed, this assignment contributes to the transition period (Jan-July 2026) leading up to Phase II of support, which will begin in August 2027. This period further solidifies the ongoing international cooperation between the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Governments of Indonesia, and the Netherlands in advancing policies on NBS for flood risk mitigation and management.The overall objective of the transition period is to develop and pilot an NBS capacity-building program in preparation for replication and upscaling for the second phase of the cooperation. The expected outputs for the transition phase are the following:• NBS training modules that can be administered by government partners, and training and academic institutions in Indonesia;• At least one NBS workshop clinic conducted, involving training of trainers and demonstration project (e.g., Flood Management in North Java Project);• Packaged NBS capacity building program (with examples of NBS project design and assessments for pre-feasibility studies based on the results of the workshop clinics).This assignment concerns the role of local coordinator for the transition phase to manage day-to-day operations, facilitating the creation of NBS training modules that can…
