Aconcagua regenerative agriculture assessment

About this project

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Embassy of the Netherland in Santiago and NewForesight collaborated in the development of the WAVE Aconcagua Partnership, a market-driven multistakeholder initiative that brings together farmers, supply chain actors and public government agencies to address growing environmental and water-related pressures in the Aconcagua Valley. Part of WAVE Partnership is the Aconcagua Network, local a coalition of 15 local farmers with a footprint of approximately 4,940 ha of cultivated land and 10,640 ha of conservation area. The farms in the Network are committed to implementing sustainable and water-resilient farming practices.The Aconcagua Network developed a Regenerative Agriculture (RA) Guide and it is now in the implementation phase. In addition, a Data Monitoring Framework is under development for linking practices to intended outcomes and impacts across key areas. The intended assignment is expected to inform the implementation of the RA Guide and provide input to the Data Monitoring Framework. A technical guidance is therefore sought for the following activities:• Technical characterisation of the farms;• Integrated geospatial mapping of farms;• Integration of the information gathered and its translation into recommendations for land management;• Submission and validation of farm characterisation reports;• Co-development of farm transition plans for regenerative agriculture.The following deliverables are requested:• Information packa…
