About this project

With the finance of the subsidy, SDUBeira will set up a rveolving fund for affordable housing in Maraza. The Revolving Fund will reduce the 'first mover risk'. Potential buyers of land and/or project developers are hesitant and take a risk-averse position, partly due to the risk of being the first party to start construction of houses in a new uninhabited part of Beira with relative uncertainty around topics such as• targeted households,• potential demand,• willingness to buy,• housing designs,• construction requirements,• construction cost, and• property titles. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency's (RVO's) finance comes with certain conditions, in order to safeguard proper use of the funds and in order to limit the risks can be taken with the fund. The conditions include the nature of the housing construction (affordability). The revolving nature, governance, investment criteria and eligibility and the investment terms.
