About this project

Flowing Forward is a 22-month capacity-building programme (December 2025-September 2027) implemented by the World Water Academy to strengthen Bangladesh's water-sector governance, through two complementary learning tracks: Asset Management (AM) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).The project supports the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) and key national and local institutions (including BEPZA, BEZA, CWASA, LGD, PPPA and selected City Corporations) to transition from reactive maintenance to lifecycle-based infrastructure management, and to improve the ability of public agencies to identify, structure and manage bankable PPPs. Activities include modular trainings, field assignments (including learning in Polder 31), Communities of Practice, train-the-trainer support, and regional/international exposure visits. The project aims to embed AM and PPP practices into institutional systems and training structures, enhance climate-resilient and financially sustainable water services, and increase local ownership through a certified national trainer pool.
