About this project
The project aims at making the citrus sector of the Mekong Delta more sustainable, more efficient, and more profitable for 2,250 citrus smallholders (750 smallholder farmers and 2 key staff members per farm). This goal will be achieved by developing a sustainable citrus value chain, in which farmers will be contracted and supported, through a private sector extension system, fertiliser advisory service, access to virus free citrus seedlings and access to a finance programme, in order to increase their incomes by least 50%.These interventions will reduce the negative impacts of agrochemicals on the environment and human health, as well as reduce the use of surface and ground water.
