About this project
The Localization Project Zambia 2024-2026 aims at improving the functioning of the humanitarian system, by empowering the Zambian Red Cross Society to lead and deliver humanitarian aid while making partnerships more equal and enhancing the sustainability of the Zambian Red Cross Society. Localization is important and is in essence an initiative to increase the efficiency of humanitarian aid. This should be obtained by strengthening the capacity of the local organization to respond well to all kinds of emergencies. In the Red Cross context this is the capacity of a National Society to exist and be self sustainable in periods with no disasters, while effective and efficient when a disaster strikes. The Localization Programme will contribute to specific investments and ensuring that more progress on localization can be made.
