Rwanda Development Dairy Program (RDDP2) - 2nd phase

About this project

RDDP-2 aims to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through facilitating access to feed, water, livestock health and breeding services, as well as training on climate-smart practices and nature-based solutions. To maximize the potential of increased productivity, the project will also support the development of improved milk collection and storage facilities, and collective marketing through productive alliances. Awareness-raising activities will be undertaken to increase demand for dairy products and nutrition enhancement. RDDP-2 will promote the use of digital technologies, access to finance, and will support a conducive policy and institutional environment to ensure long-term sustainability. RDDP-2 is informed by the lessons of the IFAD-funded projects with a strong focus on delivering inclusive and pro-poor value chain development, promoting business-oriented systems to support the agricultural transformation in Rwanda.
