About this project
This programme addresses one of the major challenges in Bangladesh which is a weak production system; namely the lower yields at the tea and oil seed farm level and low quality of products and productivity at the leather and textile medium and small scale enterprise level. This includes addressing that the existing supply chain in oil seed and the tea sector are riddled with economic and social inequality and high usage of chemicals to increase yield, which pose threats to environmental security. The textile industries are yet to adhere to production processes that reduce environmental degradation. This interventions of this programme address this lack of availability of quality seeds, climate resilient variaties of seeds and other inputs and knowledge among service providers. Lastly the programme supports farmers, workers and medium and small scale enterprises for the adoption of sustainable and gender inclusive agricultural and industrial practices.
