About this project

This programme addresses issues of poor management practices, weak governance, informality and restricted access to essential services and technology, leading to low profitability and high occupational health and safety risks in Kenya's coffee and gold mining sectors. These issues are addressed by working with coffee farming households and gold miners, cooperatives and mine owners, and other relevant stakeholders to transform to climate smart, diverse and resilient businesses. Across our interventions in Kenya, priority is on challenging restrictive norms that limit women and youth in both coffee and gold production.
