About this project
Many large commodity traders, fast-moving consumer goods, retailers and brands are based in Europe. To ensure smallholder producers are fairly rewarded for their products and ecosystem services, the programme in Europe focuses on engaging with these companies to stimulate sustainable sourcing and trading to change their business practices. Priority themes in this programme are procurement practices, living income/wage and climate (regenerative agriculture and carbon markets). The overall goal of the programme in Europe is to ensure that European market players contribute to the prosperity and resilience of smallholder farmers and medium and small-scale enterprises in developing countries. The programme focuses on the market side of inclusive service delivery systems and the market side of inclusive market connection systems.
