About this project

IDH-The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) enables shared commitment between private sector, civil society organization and Government of Indonesia, as well as other public-private partnership in order to implement the principle of sustainable development in the production and trade of agrocommodities such as palm oil, coffee, cocoa and tea. We believe this commitment strengthens the competitiveness of these commodities in international supply chains, hence will accelerate the country’s economic growth, enhancing the welfare of small holder farmers and workers, as well as preserving natural resources for generations to come. IDH helps the government and businesses to work together, it co-invests in new ways of achieving sustainable production and brings learnings from other sectors and countries to Indonesia. By making national commodities more sustainable it will increase the competitiveness of Indonesia in global markets.
