About this project

The Partnership consists of War Child Sweden (WCS), contracting entity to Sida, War Child Alliance Foundation Afghanistan (WCAF Afghanistan and the local partner WASSA, who will implement the project in country. WCS assumes responsibility and liability for all terms and conditions stipulated by donors, ensuring fulfilment in accordance with agreements.Furthermore, through this project, WCAF (Afg) in partnership with WASSA will identify existing community-based structures (CBSs) and establish new ones where not present and strive to deliver a comprehensive programme of capacity building to enable them to continue operate beyond the scope of this project in the realm of child protection and climate resilient livelihood. Collaboration with some of these structures, such as Community based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) and others, started through joint emergency responses to drought-related displacement and later formalized through War Child’s localization initiative. These exchanges enhance WCAF (Afg)’s reach and contextual understanding, while enabling local partners to scale their impact and operate more sustainably. These collaborations allow WCAF (Afg)’s, and War Child as a whole, to fulfill its strategic goal of shifting power to local actors, while partners benefit from structured capacity-strengthening that enhances their capacity and independency.
