About this project
Environmental and territorial management of the Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX) and protection of indigenous rights through institutional strengthening of indigenous umbrella association ATIX, setting-up of ATIX-managed Indigenous Fund "AIC", and greater participation of indigenous women. Focus will be on the formulation of public policies and internal strategies for the effective maintenance of the forest. Key activities include support to the implementation of the TIX PGTA (Territorial and Environmental Management Plan) to mitigate impacts of climate change, and the elaboration of a Strategic Plan for climate change adaptation within the territory. Consolidating ATIX’s management of the AIC Fund is an important component in this setting. ATIX will also contribute to the institutional strengthening of representative local associations.
